Her name is Anja Van Herle. I first saw her artwork at Jack Gallery, Mandalay Bay Casino when I was in Las Vegas this winter. It was the women in the portraits that caught my attention. There were about six different portraits of women. I went into the Gallery and inquired about the paintings. The lady at the gallery gave me her information and her website www.anjav.com. I checked her website out and learned that she was born in Belgium in 1969 and that she had been painting since she was a child. She went to Belgium's Higher Institute for Art Education and got a master degree for Fine Arts in Painting. She moved to Los Angeles in 2003. Her paintings are usually portraits of very chic women. All these women have very unique facial expressions. It seems to me that they are saying something through their eyes. To quote Anja, "These women - they feel".
